A Philippine Language on the Brink of Extinction: Sociolinguistics, Grammar, and Lexicon [review]

This study presents a superb documentation of the semifinal stages of "language death," whereby the percentage of speakers decreases from generation to generation. Three decisive factors leading to language death are outlined (p. 6) and, sad to say, three out of three have been met.
